Since the sequence always takes place at night due to the staging and the logic and we also closely follow the instructions of the navigation system, the results are pretty steady, even though there can be some variations from one run to another (traffic etc.). “ Mafia 3” does deliver pretty steady FPS numbers and even though we could not determine any serious FPS drops during our testing, you should manage more than the default FPS limit at 30 for smooth gameplay.
The benchmark takes about 60 seconds and shows the truck driving in rural as well as metropolitan areas, so a certain performance range is covered. The full drive would take too long, so we stop the measurements with the tool Fraps after the distance marker has reached the value 1500 (see video).
The main figure is driving to a heist after a short indoor sequence. We therefore use the initial car drive for our benchmark sequence. The fact that there is just one save-game and that the game does not support cloud storage (you need a Steam account to activate the game) is not so clever.
